At Scoil Íosa, pupils from 1st to 6th class take part in our Green Schools Committee. These representatives are chosen by their classmates and work together with staff to help care for and improve the school environment.
The committee plays an active role in encouraging the whole school to be more environmentally aware. Pupils help promote recycling, reducing waste, saving energy and keeping the school grounds clean and tidy. Through their work, they encourage everyone in the school to take responsibility for looking after our surroundings.
The Green Schools Committee also helps to spread important messages about protecting the environment and making sustainable choices both in school and at home. By taking part in this initiative, pupils develop leadership, teamwork and a sense of pride in helping Scoil Íosa become a greener and more environmentally responsible school.
